Welcome to Summits Northwest!

We are having a great summer so far with generally good success in the mountains and some very strong and motivated climbing students! The small instruction group program for instructing new climbing students with the Mountaineers has worked out well for both students and leaders.

We are looking forward to the rest of the climbing season and have much to do...

The photos on the site are either viewed through a mash-up sort of thing with Picasa or through a slide show on the site or both. I am in the process of getting it all to look the same and add most of the photos I have but this will take some time to say the least. I plan to at have at least a slide show, a Topo map and a link to the National Forest or National Parks Page as appropriate. The pix above are just a random grab of mountains and places from this season and seasons past.

We are truly fortunate to live in a state with 3 national parks and a national monument (Mountain Rainier, North Cascades, Olympic and the Mount St. Helens National Monument). There is virtually no end to the hiking and climbing possibilities here in this state and the northwest. It is my intention to share as much of that as I can here on this site. I hope you find something of interest.
